Lindsey Malc is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst with 15 years of experience working with autistic kids and their families. A theme in Lindsey’s work has been addressing challenging behaviours. Lindsey is focused on empowering families to address the challenging behaviour of their children. She is devoted to working with the family team to improve the quality of life for both the child and the family. She believes that teaching the parents is one of the best ways to impact the child. When she’s not working Lindsey enjoys crocheting, reading and binge watching tv shows from the early 2000’s.

Research and Content Development Specialist
Miriam has a Masters in Legal Studies from Carleton University. She worked in commercial property management for a number of years before joining the Side by Side Therapy Toronto team as the Research and Content Development Specialist. Miriam enjoys learning and writing about behaviour analysis and has a special interest in Sensory Processing Disorder. Miriam lives in The Beaches with her husband, Dan, and two delicious children, Charlie and Julia.

Rebecca is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst with over 6 years experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Canada and internationally. The age ranges that she has the most experience with are children and youth aged 3-18. Rebecca is passionate about training parents and therapists in the implementation of ABA programs and strategies. She strongly believes that client success is largely based on the family’s satisfaction with their ABA therapy experience. Other than ABA, Rebecca loves taking care of her dog, hiking, exercising, trying different foods, and travelling.

Lauren is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst with over 8 years experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Lauren is passionate about Natural Environment Teaching and developing key life skills (functional communication, peer play, toileting, dressing) that improves her client’s quality of life and access to new and exciting positive experiences. Lauren believes that parents are the agents of change in their child’s therapy, through parent involvement parents can be empowered to confidently problem solve and teach their child as they grow and develop. When Lauren isn’t working she enjoys spending time outside with her husband and toddler, going to the beach, reading a good book, running and going for walks with her dog to Starbucks!

Communication Disorders Assistant
Luciana brings a wealth of experience to the Side by Side Therapy team. She has been working as a Registered Behaviour Technician for a number of years. Before she was married, Luciana was a Speech-Language Pathologist in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Luckily for us, her husband brought her to Canada and she found ABA. Luciana bridges her SLP skills with an excellent grasp of ABA to provide a communication focused program to all of her clients. When she’s not working, Luciana loves going on road trips with her family. She lives in Toronto with her husband and two children.

Rivka has over 14 years of experience working with children with special needs. She has worked as an Instructor Therapist and Respite Worker. She has a Child and Youth Worker advanced diploma and an Autism and Behavioural Science graduate certificate. She loves helping those around her develop their skills and grow. Rivka lives in Toronto and loves camping and exploring new places.

Monica, a graduate from the University of Toronto Scarborough, with a Bachelor of Science specialist in Psychology. During her university years, she spent much of her time volunteering with children as she knew she wanted to work with them. After her time volunteering at a nursery school, Monica decided to pursue her passion working with children. She is currently completing a Master’s of Science (M. Sc.) in Psychology at the Université de Montréal. Monica looks forward to beginning a journey with Side by Side, where she feels she can truly have an impact on children’s lives.

Lorraine has been helping children with developmental disabilities to succeed at school and in the community since 2011. She is from San Juan Puerto Rico, where she worked for five years as a Speech-Language Pathologist. New opportunities brought her to Toronto, and her passion for diversity, social inclusion and helping others led her to complete a diploma in Child and Youth Care program and a graduate certificate in Behavioural Science. Lorraine loves to participate in outdoor activities with her husband, friends, and her dogs.

Sammy is a graduate of George Brown College, with a Behavioural Science Technology advanced diploma. He spent several years volunteering with adults with developmental disabilities, which led him to his program at George Brown. During his time at George Brown, Sammy spent most of his time during his practicums, working with children with developmental disabilities. He enjoys helping others learn new skills and help them grow.

With over 5 years of experience working with individuals with autism and special needs, Milica has worked as a therapist with children of all ages and backgrounds. She has experience supporting children and their families in a variety of environments including schools, and the home. She believes that family involvement and teamwork between parents and professionals is essential when it comes to children reaching their learning goals. Milica enjoys parent coaching where she can assist parents in expanding their behaviour analysis skills and knowledge. When she is not working, Milica enjoys traveling and exploring new places and cultures.

Theepa has over 10 years of experience helping children with developmental disabilities. Her passion to help individuals with developmental disabilities lead her to become an Ontario Certified Teacher with a graduate certificate in Behavioural Science. She believes family involvement and an inclusive learning environment is crucial for individuals with development disabilities to achieve their learning goals. She enjoys going for walks and exploring new places with her two boys.

Hunter has a Masters of Applied Disability Studies with a specialization in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Brock University and is currently pursuing certification as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). Prior to graduate school, she completed a Bachelor’s in Child Studies at Carleton University. She is very passionate about working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and teaching them skills that could improve their quality of life and produce meaningful behaviour changes for them and their families. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors and going for hikes.
Senior Therapist
Sahila is an experienced and dedicated Senior Therapist who has been working with children on the spectrum over the last several years. After graduating from the University of Waterloo, she obtained her Master of Education from the University of Toronto, and is currently working towards obtaining her BCBA certification. Over the years, Sahila has worked with children of all ages and has experience working in clinic, home, and community-based settings. In her free time, Sahila enjoys spending time with her dog and exploring new places.

Arielle Guber is a registered speech-language pathologist with over 11 years of experience working directly with children with special needs. Currently, Arielle works in both the private and public sectors. In addition, she holds Status-only appointment in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto, at the rank of lecturer. Arielle brings evidence based decision making and a commitment to client and family centred care to all of her activities. Arielle lives in Toronto with her husband and beautiful children.

Nessie has a passion for fun! She holds a degree in Recreation Therapy from Seneca College. She is devoted to ensuring that all children can grow and learn through play. Nessie has a number of years of experience working with children with special needs as a Rec Therapist, an ABA therapist and a classroom assistant. Nessie loves animals and has a pet rabbit named Einstein.
Recreation Therapist
Madonna is graduate of Integrative Biology and Psychology at the University of Toronto, with further training in Recreation Therapy at Seneca College’s degree program. She is passionate about making a positive impact, and has dedicated many years to working with vulnerable populations. Her experience working with children extends to tutoring, after school recreation programming, mindfulness training, and recreation therapy with individuals who face unique challenges. She enjoys the outdoors and exploring nature’s healing gifts.

Tony has over 20 years experience working in education. He holds a Masters degree in Clinical and Child Psychology as well as a Masters degree in Education. Currently, Tony is the founder of Lipseylearn, a service dedicated to providing affordable psycho-educational assessments to students in the greater Toronto area. Tony has 4 married children of his own and 6 grandchildren. He lives in Toronto with his wife, Shayna, a social worker at the University of Toronto Medical program.
